Else where in IV (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=7026&postcount=172), I posted that the core bill under consideration is Specter S.Amdt 3192, which has already amended Specter's S.2454. So, the Hagel-Martinez 3 core provisions will be added to S.Amdt 3192.
But what about the discussion of other 228 amendments now cloture has passed and discussion and voting allowed on these.

The MS Office and Apple stamps had some modification done to them. Correct me if I am wrong, but it just seems as though you pasted the band's logo into a black background.
I'll add the first, second, fourth, and fifth logos to the site though :)

My case is similar too, my husband filed 485 for both of us on 29th June, we both have H1b. But on June 15th one H1b transfer was filed for me (dependent in 485) which was confirmed to us on June 22nd and I joined new company on June 26th.
But the whole transfer thing is not mentioned in 485 because we were not aware at time of filling forms (june 18th).
Is this going to create problem? do we need to send update/form to USCIS about this?

Hello all,
If my GC is approved, is my employer bound by obligation he gave to USCIS when he filed I140 petition?
I mean, in I140 employer explicitly stated my future wage, it is 20% higher then wage I am getting from him while I am on H1B.
Say, my GC is approved and employer refuses to raise my wage to match the amount given in I140. Is there any way to make him stick to this obligation? Like, complaining to DOL, or where else? And if I complain, can it affect validity of my GC?
The problem is after GC I have to stay with this employer for another 6 months to avoid possible complications in future applying for citizenship. If I just quit and take another job - that will make a possible problem in the future; but if he lays me off, then I am fine. But he does not want to lay me off, and does not want to keep his promise. Any ideas?

I would like to see this kind of report in front page of WSJ and NY times.
I like the below points from the report.
- There is no evidence that during the long periods of time when no foreign
nationals could receive new H-1B petitions the job market improved for U.S. workers or professionals.
- The March 2009 findings from Duke University and University of California, Berkeley researchers send a signal that America cannot take it for granted that outstanding international students, researchers and professionals from around the world will always want to stay and work in the United States.
- The relaxation of green card constraints proposed in the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 could have increased labor earnings and GDP by approximately $34 billion in the tenth year following enactment and had a net positive effect on the budget of $34 to $47 billion over ten years.
- Relaxation of H-1B caps under the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 could have increased labor earnings and GDP by $60 billion in the tenth year following enactment and improved the federal budgets bottom line by $64 to $86 billion over ten years.
- Over the past 15 years, immigrants have started 25 percent of U.S. public companies that were venture-backed, a high percentage of the most innovative companies in America . . . The largest U.S. venture-backed public companies started by immigrants include Intel, Solectron, Sanmina-SCI, Sun Microsystems, eBay, Yahoo!, and Google.
- we estimate that all companies founded by immigrants from 1995 to 2005 produced $52 billion in sales and employed 450,000 workers in 2005,

hi:
PD 2001..got labor certfied online on June28 2007
I have been waiting for the hard copy..so my Hr called Dol and asked whether they have mailed. The Dol officer sent the Cover letter by email (first page of whole approved package) to company HR showing the certification . She also told HR that cover letter was enough for I140 filing.
Is it true? Please let me know.
DB
It is not true.
This is printed in the I-140 instructions(page 3):
General Evidence.
Labor certification. Petitions for certain classifications must be filed with a certification from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Copies.
If these instructions state that a copy of a document may be filed with this petition and you choose to send us the original, we may keep that original for our records. Copies may be submitted of all documentation with the exception of the Labor Certification which must be submitted in the original.

you are ok. You only needed to get married anytime before your I-485 is approved.
BTW that is a funny title for the thread "single and then married". Most of us are indeed single before we get married :)

AILA Leadership Has Just Posted the Following:
Just when you thought it couldn't get much worse.
Now we are told that ICE agents grab mentally ill immigrants right from mental hospitals, ship them off to a Texas detention center without word to family or counsel, and deport them. Could ICE's behavior be any more horrific?
The latest ICE outrage against immigrants has been released in a study conducted by Texas Appleseed, a public interest law center, and Akin Gump, a corporate law firm, and documents ICE's mistreatment of mentally ill immigrants at every stage of the deportation process. http://nyti.ms/atZYsB.
The report is just the latest in a stream of countless stories of neglect, abuse, and deaths of detainees in ICE detention. Some tales fit neatly into the annals of the world's most oppressive regimes, including the plight of Boubacar Bah, who, after mysteriously suffering a skull fracture, was handcuffed by ICE officials while writhing in agony in his own vomit on the floor of a New Jersey detention center, then locked-up in an isolation cell for 13 hours without medical treatment and, finally, transported to a hospital in a coma where he later died, (See Secret Horror Stories: ICE Officials Hid The Truth About Immigrant Deaths In Detention http://bit.ly/4tdHDt).
Several months ago homeland security secretary Janet Napolitano and ICE assistant secretary John Morton announced a review of the ICE detention operations with the stated goal of creating a "truly civil" detention system. But in light of the continuing reports of deaths, abuse, neglect, cover-ups, and other corruption, it is beyond dispute that the ICE detention system is a national disgrace. DHS should not tolerate even a single case of abuse or neglect of a person in ICE detention. The poor treatment of the mentally ill should also be viewed in light of the recent March 27 Washington Post article revealing dissension at top levels of ICE management. Napolitano and Morton are now suffering from a credibility gap. They must demonstrate clear and forceful leadership if they want to succeed in implementing the priorities and reforms they announced months ago on enforcement. All Americans are entitled to be secure in the knowledge that individuals detained by ICE will be treated humanely, and in accordance with applicable detention standards.

Write LSAT and go to Law School and become a lawyer and to start practicing you should get admitted to the bar. The bar requirements vary.
In some states like california , you can work under a attorney for 10 (if not ten say 'n') years and get addmitted to the bar.

No, my new would be employer will not be doing H1 transfer for me. They will take the EAD route. Yes, I know the start and end date of EAD as that is printed in the approval letter.
So, I guess, although I don't have the plastic card in hand, I can start processing AC21 on the basis of EAD approval notice and A#, that gives me 90 more days.
I will read I 9 more carefully with time. Also started upgrading profile.

I've an appointment in October at Munich, Germany consulate for H1B stamping. Because of time constraints I decided to get the stamping done when I'm out there for work. I've already obtained the german visa (though had to provide plenty of explanation !). This is my 9th yr extn (MS, EB2 - 140 approved)
- Can anyone share their experience at the Munich consulate?
- or, should I plan going to Canada and trying rather taking the risk in Germany?
thanks,

The easiest solution would be going to MataMoros, Mexico for stamping. This is the best option for us. Easy, affordable, and takes only 1 day. India, you need to answer several questions, interview to be attended, and ofcourse, they treat everybody as though the person requesting for visa is a criminal.
I went to mexico couple of days back, and it was done easily

As per Section 201 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, out of 114,200 visas for 2nd Preference, 89,000 reserved visa numbers has been allocated to F2A and the rest something around 26,600 visas has been reserved to allocate to F2B. But now, in previous year F2A jumps over 4 years gap and only then they could achieved their quota and who knows there could be a probability of wastage or unused numbers as well. Anyways it will be an advantage for F2Bs because in 2011 they have 89,000 stock again to complete the required given numbers and any body in a world can guess right now after seeing the result of 2010 that it will become current soon. All I wanna say that there could be a tremendous amount of unused visas will gonna distributed among the preceding categories in which they will distribute those unused numbers to preceding categories. Where the maximum will be allocated to F2Bs and rest two: F3 and F4 could also enjoy this unused numbers in a discrete sequence. This process is known as Spillover, I have mentioned below the link of USCIS Blog site(Beacon)u guys can go and check it out.

It is always good to maintain L1A status. I think best way to apply your L1A extention under premium & family under normal. I think premium fee is only for primary application & not dependent. If anything goes wrong with I140, you will be ground zero on status. In that case, You may have to leave the country immediately.
