Well a company can be sued for any reason. I do not control the day to day activity apart from IT stuff.
My question specifically, if the company is sued, since I am a minority owner will I have to do rounds in the court appear before a judge etc..will I be summoned! Or only the executives majority shareholders are summoned.
(No I am not talking about a body shop and this is a small financial firm)

FWIW as long as you are on H1 I think your family can always get a H4 visa outside the country based on your H1 status and reenter on H4 if that is also being considered.

Hi all,
My wife has MSc in Comp and has work experience of 2 yrs as a programmer in India. She came last year on F2 and applied for H1 this year but She didn't get selected in the lottery. Someone told her that she can apply for jobs in universities and they do H1 (no cap).
Can someone tell us that this is true? and also suggest us where else can she try looking for jobs? Are all the Not-for-Profit organizations same in terms of doing H1 (no cap)?
I appreciate any suggestions and thanks in advance.

I'm working in Company 'A'. My company is filing for H1 extension for me along with my wife's H4 Extension in the month of April (before that it is not possible it seems - according to lawyer or Imm. dept of company 'A')
Company 'B' is filing H1 visa for my wife on April 1st.
So my question is: Is there a RISK to file 2 separate petitions (H4 Extension and H1) in the same time frame?
If yes, what's the option?
If no, should I say to my employer or lawyer (Company 'A') to not to file H4 extension for my wife because of the overlap of time frames?

Arent you allowed to apply for OPT only after you express ur desire to "graduate"?
if that is the case that means you have completed ur studies.
The other option would be enroll for a second MS...and try to go find a job on CPT?

You can call USCIS if you don't hear from them within 90 days of filing EAD. Many of you probably know this already, but I thought that was interesting... and may benefit those who didn't know this already.

I applied for H1 last year and got H1 approved for 9 months. (they counted all my stay on H4). Now H1 expired on 25th Nov and applied for H4 on 15th Nov before H1B expires.
I wants to take advantage of New memo of USCIS. Can I apply for H1B with different employer than earlier one while my H4 case is pending?
Or shall I wait until I gets H4 approval and they apply for H1B.
Please help me on this.

Can you please tell me what restrictions we have at london to travel. I heard some European countries have restrictions to travel.

If the visa is not stamped in you passport, say you are carrying advance parole travel document, in that case you need a Transit visa.

My I-485 status is updated with the below message. LUD 05/21/2009. Surprisingly they mailed the document on 09 March 2009 and status update is on 05/21/2009

I know this is irrelevant in a way but see it from a different angle for one moment. There is no other forum where you can get any information about these H1 employers who are playing games using retrogression. This is the only forum where most of the people on H1 are related to some desi consulting company and can share their experiences which would help other people who are in huge pain due to the unfair practices of their existing employers.
I would recommend the administrators to create a separate area on this forum where people can share these experiences and find genuine employers.

I got FP notice inside 2 weeks of submitting my EAD application. I am in TSC. Again FP depends on when you last Finger prints. I dont everyone 'HAS' to get FP.

A person decides to change employers, moving from company A to company B. It's been 180 days after 485 filing.
Question: what does company B have to do to legally take this person on as full time employee? Is the process any different than taking any other american resident employee? The way I understand is it is not any different.
Please advise,

Myself and my wife walked into the ASC today. The officer in the front mentioned "are you coming in early" we said yes and then he said u need to fill out the forms etc so we got it done today. I persume since the finger prints are scanned and notified to USCIS so I don't have to send to the service center
I am not sure whether a way to prepone it. You can try going for FP. They did not say anything about the future date.

YOU ARE NOT CURRENT . June visa bulletin is over on 30th June. Starting from JULY all EB3 is unavailable.
And I was in the same boat since last 3 months but not got my approval.
No second thought for you other than renewing you EAD/AP.
